Probably not the first though.
I still get all Tom Waits stuff as soon as it's out.

One of my most cherished albums for years (and I've still got it up in the loft, somewhere) was a BBC sound effects album called Death And Horror. Can't recall right now what Volume it was, but it was a well worn classic on my turntable

Old Angus

Slade - Old, New, Borrowed and Blue (probably).

Yup....'Big Disasters', 'Sci-Fi', 'Love does Lurve', HORROR!
Nothing comes close to 'Star Wars and Other Galctic Funk' by Meko,( ) however. A whole B side of drumming excellence. In 3 parts!
Not relevant to this thread though............Didn't buy it myself. Apparently, my 6 month old cousin bought it?

I think the one I had had DISASTER THEMES written in big rocks, all cracked by an earthquake, like, on the front.

Ahhhhh.......'Sensssaaroouuuuund' indeed.
Earthquake was a must see movie at the time, our local cinema in Barrhead never had no SenssssssssaaaaroUND!, so they just turned the tannoys up full blast and the flea-pit fucken shook every time Charlton Heston spoke.
Towering Inferno was another biggie, and I remember every boy in my primary class sneeking in (it was a AA) to see Rollerball.
I remember getting taken to that wee cinema one night when I was really young, with my mum and sister and seeing Papillon. Heavy movie for a kid, that And they had regular Bond double-bills. And I remember seeing Roger Moore in Gold! and knowing it was total shit even then.

I got Brand New Age on release, too: clear plastic vinyl that was so floppy it was almost a flexi-disk!
However, the first non-MiB LP bought on release was The Scream, Siouxsie and the Banshees.

I was so disappointed when I heard the original Psycho after hearing the Geoff Love version. I thought it was crap compared to his.
That album got me into classical music because of Rollerball. Cracking album though.
When I went to the flicks in the mid 70's to see Towering Inferno I seem to remember there was a break as the film was so long. Does anyone else remember that??

Indeed I do. And the woman who came around selling ice creams had foul breath and very droopy breasts that sort of, "fell into the tray".

And this sort of thing used to happen in the intermission ALL the time!
"Albatross!"
"I'll have a choc ice please"
"Sorry, only got this albatross"
"What flavour is it?"
"It's not any f*cking flavour! Ok, it's f*cking seabird flavour!"
