With a sausage have you ever been to....

First time visit and I'm lost in the Mersey Tunnel, confused, how does this site work
paulinblack

Welcome !

I think its is a high powered, fully scalable, and highly customizable Open Source bulletin board package called phpBB. PhpBB has a user-friendly interface, simple and straightforward administration panel, and helpful FAQ. Based on the powerful PHP server language and your choice of MySQL, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL or Access/ODBC database servers, phpBB is the ideal free community solution for all web sites.

But I'm not too sure.

Shakespearo?

What does shakespearo mean after my name? For example, was this given to me by the site when I registered. As it happens I am not a shakespearo, it was those dudes that watched their Rome burn, not me.

Hello Loopalllu, its all very simple really, you have taken the first step by saying hello to us, and over the next day or so you will find several responses to this, one from a fellow scot who seems to think he is from Hawaiwii, another from a chap in London who is a very decent sort but is insistant on correct punctuation at all times, one from a hard working chap in the north sea, One as you have seen, from a man in Denver who spends much of his time here alone due to us all being in bed when he is out to play, One from the Headmaster himself, who will no doubt be in a bad mood this evening having lost his shirt at the races today, and various others who are either bordering on insane, convinced they are Cybermen, or are generally lost for much else to do during working hours.
Enjoy, and don't take anything too much to heart! Very Happy

Sounds impressive did you write that yourself?

It's actually MySQL but I'll let that one slip

Don't talk to me about ODBC - having a nightmare at work with that

Thanks Ravenlunatic

Hello Ravenlunatic, thanks for the guidance. Seen the boys in action at Ullapool this year and realised just how much I've missed the sound, truly unique. It all started for me at Loch Lomond's Bear Park festival in 1979, the Boomtown Rats were totally eclipsed and the explosive Tank performance will always be with me. I was hooked from that gig onwards. Sort of lost interest when Hugh moved on but the Ullapool festival put me back in the black. Guess I've been searching for more Stranglers action since then and hence why I have almost certainly came accross this site (Previously I have visited only the Stranglers official website). This is more real, with real meninblack, and sort of reassures me that there are other nuts like me out there.

Thanks again Ravenlunatic, your reply is very much appreciated.

hello, welcome, come in, want an introductory cuppa? well, yeah just make one in your house, and say its on us. so yes, i hope i get to see your posts about, just please god dont introduce yourself then run off after 5 posts and never return. especially as theraven1979 will class you as homosexual, and assume youve died!
ravenlunatic

Oh yes, just to add to my earlier post. One from an over excited teenager for whom some of us (against our better judgement) bear a begrudging respect due to his enthusiasm and taste in music! Wink

A cuppa's cool, cheers, will put some Ice in. Hopefully Raven1979 will agree we're on the right (non homosexual) track, plus believe that I wont die like cherry blossom by being a 5 post wonder. Cheers

Cheers Toiler, thought the boys would have played Toiler at Ullapool this year as the town is coastal, but not to be. Amazing track.
