Will hugh make an appearance at the roundhouse?

With the boys for one number or more?
Eddy Burnel deux

would be nice to see him, if there's a blue moon and pigs flying then yeh he could well be there!
C r a s s !

Not worth voting for. It's a pointless exercise. hugh's got a great outfit that simply needs some great new songs to perform - and the Stranglers are, er... the Stranglers. Roll on the Roundhouse. I'm more than satisfied Hugh won't, and I quote: "FAAKIN' BE THERE!!!"

Of course he is! Puffinboots has already told us he will and if anyone knows then he's the man to know.

Watched a recording of Mark Ronson last night. Venue does indeed look great.

As I finished watching it, last nights program with Paul Mccartney was just starting. Only watched the first 3 songs - he was awful.

I think it would be nice if he pitched up. It would be good for him and the Stranglers. It would put the finishing touches to the evening. After this great evening, how long will this great band go on for. When the Stranglers finally call it a day I will be heart broken. To me, they are like a family member.
I do sincerely hope that they can get together for one last time, its not too much to ask.

I think he will and it will be the big suprise of the evening.

They are very self confident after the last album, Baz is a great guitar player with a great heart who is not to narrow minded to step a side for Hugh, giving him his place in the sun.

And that would be the ultimate stranglers MK. Hugh on vocals, baz on guitar and doing some backing vocals.
C r a s s !

I've just heard some amazing news for the 4th. Hugh will be stepping on to the stage at The Roundhouse at precisely 21.15.

Oh no - I got mixed up with John Cooper Clarke. sorry. Embarassed

I think if Baz "stepped aside" he'd keep on walking.

Come one you ole cynix! Dint you hear? Hugh's gonna pitch up dressed as a nekkid Santa with a bauble wedged up his crack holding a sprig of holly in his kisser, being pulled out on a Tank sleigh by the other 4 boys all dressed as reindeer. Straight up! Very Happy

Hey- Mibee that's why Hugh was so strident* with his, "I WON'T FUCKEN BE THERE!" declaration- so the message might, somehow, sink in.

Re The Pope...

John Paul II visiting the US was asked by a reporter if he would be visiting any Brothels during his stay in the US.

"Certainly not", was the reply.

Headlines in the local rag

"POPE SAYS HE WILL NOT BE VISITING BROTHELS IN THE US".

The only known, "known" is that according to the "Take Away plus one and Share-by principle"

(5000 - i - g - h - b - s - S - r + p -1) = R

Then: R/ T = X.

Where:
i = Number of in-house staff
g = Number of people on guest list
h = Hugh + 1
b = Number of people on B.U.T. attending gig.
s = Show biz liggers, blaggers and press
S = 4 (The Stranglers)
r = Road Crew
p = Paul Roberts (He has to pay!) his mate doesn't
R = Remaining tickets for sale
T = Number of touts
X = Potential number of tickets available per tout.

He'll turn up, no worries, 23 of my lapsed Stranglers mates have bought a ticket on the strength of it:-)......

He'll be on at some point, they'll all shake hands after the encores, flowers will be thrown on stage and Hugh will take a bow, clutching a bouquet of sweet william and orchids.
Look what happened when Jet shagged his back in? - he appeared on stage singing Old Codger....no-one was expecting that...Look what happened at wembley 86 - Keith Allen turns up.....no-one was expecting that....look what happened at Ally Pally in 90......Hugh legs it.....no-one was expecting that...

You know? I'm reminded again of Terrance McKenna, when he said, "If the truth is told in a way that it is understood, then it will be believed".
If this seems at all plausible, then the problem might be that Hugh was being a bit too ambiguous to some ears when he publicly stated that he WONT FUCKEN BE THERE!
Organ Grinder

3000 capacity with circle seats removed.

Should be more than most UK gigs over the last 10 years at least anyway? Discounting fesitvals of course.....

As for Hugh? Well I'd leave a 1% chance of him turning up purely on the basis that this band have been known to act fucking nuts at times in their past. La Folie anyone? I rest my case. Only adds a 1% chance tho so don't get moist on my account guys.

jeanjacketburnel

Hugh will definatley be on stage!
Why? Because JJ hinted at it. Also there's not much point doing a 30 year anniversery celebration if your original line up's not involved, fair enought if some of them are dead. Besides, if they haven't asked Hugh to join them, he'll only go and do his own version. This way everyone's quids in
Unfortunatley I won't be attending as I've left it too late to get a ticket once again. Those of you going, have a great night and I'll just have to look forward to Xmas when I can watch the DVD.

Actually - it's amazing how rumours can spread in a second....at the front, I mentioned to this guy *just* before Go Buddy Go, "Hey, Cornwell will be on for Go Buddy Go, next - he did at Manchester"...and this guy turned to his mate, told him, who turned to a guy behind and told him, who turned to someone behind him and told him x 1000 people...was like striking a match in a dry haystack.......I guessed it must have been someone on here who absorbs any old shit:-)
