Who's your favourite Strangler?I do so hate the word favourite.................makes me sound like a teenybopper! So........the person who typifies The Stranglers, past and present, (groan!) It may sort the wheat from the chaff? Time to lay cards on tables?
Careful though, you never know who's watching?!? 
And, an explanation please. I think Jim will let us get away with this if we give an honest appraisal of all contributors.

In a vain attempt to discredit the uncomfortable (to some, I'm sure?) findings of this authoratative and well thought out poll, young Alias here has fallen into the trap of voting for everybody's least favourite  Strangler!

I admire the person who voted for Dave and it just makes me realise that the Stranglers wouldn't be the Stranglers without him.
Which makes me wonder will the Stranglers still be the stranglers without Jet? Would you still go if he wasn't playing drums anymore? Possibly we'd get over it?
What if Dave jacked it in to open a rat sanctuary and there was no one to head a drink during Heroes solo?a bit harder to replace that sound?
And JJ? If he left and Jet and Dave carried on would it be the same? No original vocalist left? No I reckon if he goes that's it. end of. period.

Clive Grace. (I think that was his surname)
He was a mate of my cousin's, who jumped up on stage during one of the Hugh-less Rainbow gigs, and JJ allowed him to stay and sing Sewer. I never met him, but still remember my cousin's reaction...
"Fucking hell, that looks like Clive...fucking hell again, it is!!!."

My preferred StranglerFave is not really the way I would describe him but for me it always was & will be JJ....
He is the reason I picked up a bass in the first place, although I no longer play.
Discovering them in my 1st year at senior school, emulating his percieved arrogance definately saved me a few kickings at the hands of the bullies.... I found if ya give it some they leave ya alone.
In later years I could think of no better way to honour a man I definately looked up to than naming my (1st born) son after him, Joshua-James, because we call him JJ.
Incidently, my 2nd born son has Raven as a middle name, but that also works/worked for Killing Joke, another band to make a huge impact on my life.
