Clash TributeThanks to JJB I play bass in a Clash Tribute. I'd love to play in a Glasgow-based Stranglers trib but can't find any good keyboard players!! If you know of any.......
Anyway, check out our web site. We've got video from supporting Stiff Little Fingers at the Barrowlands. We also supported the Stranglers at the Rats Rally a few years ago.

Cheers all,
Mick.
PS FMH were easily the best Stranglers trib out there. I saw them a few times in Glasgow - we were even planning to play together at some point, then they died. Real shame. RIP FMH.
I played with the No More Heroes mob in the QM once. They were quite good.

Cool - I saw you guys at Rats Rally and was well impressed.
You're spot on about 4MH - they might get back together this year.

CombatRock- seen you'ze at McCuills-a crackin live band.
A regular Glasgow Stranglers would be awsome though. My mate Tam had a Joy Division band going around Glasgow for a while, and I always harboured plans for starting up a Velvets tribute band (was always surprsed no one ever did one) but no one wanted to be Mo Tucker!

I saw you at Rats Rally also. Very impressed.
Any chance you could do some gigs around Glos/Bristol?

StrummercampWe're playing at the Strummercamp in May - last weekend (bank holiday). It should be a good gig. There's a number of excellent bands playing plus there are a few more yet to be announced.
We're arranging buses from the Glasgow/Edinburgh areas - contact me if you're interested.
Re Bristol/Glos - I think there is already a Clash trib round those parts. If you can recommend a good venue let me know.
I went to the Hugh Cornwell gig last night in Glasgow. Excellent night. The old boy's still got it. He did a Q&A session before singing. Someone asked if he'd met Paul Roberts. Apparently they met, very briefly, at a Madonna party in London. They shook hands and Paul left. Hugh said he 'looked a bit scared'!!
He ran thru Duchess, Tramp, Golden Brown (he forgot the second verse!), NMH, Goodbye Toulouse plus a range of hisown solo stuff. Excellent night had by all. He seemed to enjoy it too except he looked very apprehensive when a young nubile threw herself at him. Not like the old days, eh Hugh!!!!

Mick saw you guys supporting SLF at the Barras 2004 I think, pretty damn good as I remember.Do you remember the other Glasgow tribute band The Counterfeit Clash? Don't know if they are still doing the rounds, but I saw them quite a few times.

Mick

Combat RockYep, we're on the same day as Hugh. I can retire now - supporting the great man himself - at last!!!
Cheers Frank. We supported SLF a couple of times at the Barras. Great gigs. The audience was full of balding, forty-something-year old geezers - just like us! Great crowd. The Counterfeits are still out there but I haven't seen them for a while.
See you all at Strummercamp.
Cheers,
Mick.

It would be good if you guys could get some more gigs in Glasgow, have only see you the once at The Barras.
Pivo Pivo is starting out on the live music scene,it's a tidy little venue you should try there. Also The Capitol is a smart venue too,saw Zodiac there a few weeks back. They do good drinks promotions on a Friday night.
Like the sound of the double headers, that sounds like a winner and I know a lot of people would be well up for it.
Anyway roll on Straighten Out

Nah it's alright mate, we're all quite fluent in many languages up here, including soft southern woofter, so communication shouldn't be a problem.

And not forgetting........
Sleekit-Not very trust worthy.

Meet upHey Bubba,
Didn't I meet you in a prison cell once???? You wanted to play "Mommies and Daddies" as I recall!
We should talk about doing some gigs together. We're breaking in our new singer at the Glasgow Carling Academy in September. I want to start booking some gigs for later in the year and would love to do a few double headers with youse guys!
Which one are you in the band (if you're in the band!)?
Mick.
PS I'll be the one in the cool shades.....

RepliesFrank - I was in Pivo Pivo just a couple of weeks ago to see Hateful and The Filth and The Fury. It's a good wee venue.
We've been off looking for a new singer - imagine how difficult it is to replace the Strummerman!! Bloody hard. We've finally found someone who fits the bill and will test him in September. Then we can start playing live again!!!
Jim - all hearing stolen at the Barras is oors now! Tuff!!! Yer no gettin it back. Right!
See y'all in Rockers.
Mick.
