burningpilotHello everyone. My friend has a band called burningpilot. I think they are really rather good. There's a definite Stranglers influence in there, particularly on the songs 'Accelerate' and 'Case History' which you can listen to on the myspace page http://www.myspace.com/burningpilot . Both these songs are taken from their forthcoming album which is slated for an October release via Transgressive records. There's also a few other old singles you can listen to on there as well. Some say the keyboards have more than a passing resemblance to a certain Mr Greenfield....I've heard a promotional copy of the record and it's stunning. If you like The Stranglers then you can't really go wrong, although they've definetely carved out a sound of their own as well. If you have a few minutes please feel free to have a listen and post some feedback on here. I'll pass on your comments both positive and negative..Cheers.

Okay, just listened to Accelerate. And I couldn't stop myself
singing Girlfriend in A Coma for the first 20secs
Vocals a bit John Fox, a bit Mark E.Smith. The music was
good, nice keys and guitar, a modern take on that '80's sound (I'm thinking The Bravery/The Killers etc), but I liked it- very catchy.

Kid A Kidder-
A bit Cure-y this one, deffo Bob Smith vox, and
deffo Dave Greenfield runs on the keys.
I'm liking them...

Nice one. Girlfriend in a coma! You wouldn't be the first to make a Smiths comparison. You should definetely check out the album when it comes out. It's got some great 79-81 era MKI esq instrumental passages.
