Anyone noticing speed issues please post hereI know most of us are experiencing speed issues with the site over the last week or so. Can you all reply to this thread basically saying what sort of problems you're experiencing. I intend to show the web space provider. It might not actually be the fault of my web provider but it could be some sort of config issue with the board - However, I have'nt changed anything with the board for well over a month.
I know we had another thread on the go but can we please post all site speed issues here.
I will get to the bottom of this - thanks for bearing with me.
Thanks peeps.

Basically when I click on this site in my favourites I get the outline navigator index but then my PC fails to log on to the whole site and comes up with an error message say the server cannot be found. If I do then manage to get on to the site if I press the back button or click on a "main menue" type heading I get kicked out then as well. Needless to say because of this I haven't bothered visiting for a while. I have chnaged my settings onmy pc but doesn't semm to have made much difference. So I have no idea what is happneing...cheers

1. Site doesn't load properly. Only see Navigator and a blank background. Have to reload site or choose option from Navigator menu.
2. Intermittent hanging. If there are 10 threads I want to look at I normally find the site hangs on at least one or two threads.
3. Posting is occasionally problematic. Will hit send and wait for a while. Error screen appears. Pressing back then refresh allows me to get to the post.

When I post a PM the message stays in my 'Outbox' for days before being sent on. I seem to have to log in/out several times before the message is forwarded.
Apologies to folk who think I've been slow or not bothered to reply to their PM's lately btw.

Have only noticed one thing recently, that is when I bring up the site I get the headers and the navigation bar, but not the forum index. The only way it seems I can get that is open 'posts since my last visit', choose one, then go for the specific forum from there.

I think it's mainly down to the index.php page - Seems to be goosed - I tried replacing it last night - will try again tonight.
The logging in issue I've been aware of for a long time and it effects me as well. There is a fix but it involves around 3 hours of my time and to be honest. Having to log in again isn't really a bad thing.
I'll look into some options - Obviously I don't want to start looking at shelling out some more wonga.

Yep me too! Occasionally I can see the threads but when I try to read them all I get is a blank screen. Again, occasionally it'll let me in. Have to login each time I visit also - doesn't happen automatically as it used to.

Well..........The Stranglers - Black to the Future (for all your....ahem...latest incarnation rumour and conjecture!)..... seems to be quite reliable. (and it's also got a navbar. you've gotta have a navbar!)
However, I'm not having as many issues with this site as I was a coupla weeks ago. Seems to be same as it ever was for me.

Generally nothing loads on the front page for me, sometimes using the side bar 'view posts since last visit' does not work (nothing loads).
Last night I had to use the Memberlist to pick up a link to a topic, even though I was able to view topics that way if I clicked on the main forums link from there I got a blank page again.

About 2 mins ago had my first 're-log in' prompt (same as others have experienced). I normally book mark the 'msgs since last visit page' and remain logged in 24/7.

Made a couple of changes - can I have a couple of people giving me feedback asap please
Using the portal approach for now - I may revert back to the old index after a week or so. Let's see how we get on. Lets remember that there's always going to be a slight lag in refreshing pages etc as this is the internet after all. However, recently the forums have been unusuable and I've told my web provider this - and to be fair to them they have tried all sorts with the site.
As always I'm looking for thoughts and feedback.

Whenever I've had problems in the past, and especially since the latest dilemmas.....I click on 'member list'.
Cancel what I said earlier, about 3 days ago, I can get the first page but whenever I try to alter the 'select sort method' or 'order' (ascending or descending), if it's not the first or last page, I'm just getting a big blank 'Done'
And, something I've not experienced before, I'm clicking 'view posts since last visit' and coming up with blank pages as well? Refresh works 2 times out of 3?
It could be the Aspall however?
